Drunken Muppet or no, if the Republicans get better at “messaging” (i.e., disguising the real moral vacuity of their policy), then we have something to worry about.
Making fun of the way the guy talks is just a lazy, cheap shot, something I associate with the people that Stewart regularly makes fun of. The bit is so much funnier without that.
I’d advise the Democrats not to be too complacent when it comes to minority voters. The Republicans might actually gain some ground, especially on some issues like abortion.
