When our family got back from vacation I changed the serious looking headshot that I generally use as my FB profile pic to one that shows my family in their natural state of being:
My big kids left for their mom’s house July 1st for five weeks. We were all sad about it even though our trip was awesome, they are having a great time now, and we will see them in August. My daughter stopped by last night to get some stuff, cuddle her little brother, and ask for a ride home to meet her boyfriend for dinner. She ended up driving (she just got her permit) through Red Sox traffic and very nearly killing us both. But it was a fun bonding experience, kind of like living through an emergency landing on a plane with no engines.
My daughter, like most 17 year-olds, is a FB fanatic. I get limited access once in a while. Her profile pictures generally involve her friends, a party, maybe one of her favorite singers (we have also recently bonded over our mutual love for Adele).
So my son woke me up this morning at 6 and I opened my iPad to see a notification from FB that my daughter had changed her profile picture:
Best Moment of The Day.
Of course, shortly thereafter she completely blocked my access to her account. I still know that my profile picture is her profile picture. I just can’t see it anymore.
