The Komplicated crew joins the rest of the world today in mourning the loss of visionary inventor, creator, marketing guru, and O.G. Geek Steve Jobs, who passed away today at the age of 56.
Much has been said about Jobs–from his plucky beginnings as a college drop-out inventing computers in a garage, to his creation of a company that would redefine the world of animation, to his controversial departure and return to the company he created–and much will likely be said in the coming days about the man who took Apple Computers to the top of the technological and business worlds.
We here at Komplicated extend our condolences to Jobs’ family, and offer a heartfelt “THANK YOU” to a man whose vision, genius, and innovation helped bring computers–and the educational advances their emergence spearheaded–to the Black community, intentionally or not.
A. Darryl Moton’s first computer was an Apple II Plus purchased in 1985. He lives in Portland, Oregon.
