As a long time member of the Good Men Project family, I can tell you from long experience that it is devoted to new and more wide ranging ways for men and women to design and live their lives.
The Good Men Project is now creating a whole new set of tools for better life and living. In test groups over the last year, men and women have been joining in on conversations about the disposability of men, relationships, race, gender, parenting and more. I should know. I ran one of the groups and the conversations were surpising, unpredictable and life affirming. GMP Social Interest Groups are well presented, considerate spaces for broadening our understanding of difference and creating new resources for life and living.

Seriously, you’d think in a world of connectivity, people would have more meaningful conversations, but sadly many of us struggle to find spaces for that. Passive media is at the root of the problem. So GMP is about to change media as you know it. Our vision is to have real conversations about stuff that matters available every day of the week to people around the globe. Want to learn about Wellness or Relationships? Want to ask the difficult questions about race and sexuality? We call it “participatory media.” Talk to others. Create media together. Change the world.
We are re-inventing media.
Media has historically been passive. It started with things you read—books, newspapers, magazines. Then radio and television brought media you consumed. Blogs and podcasts were re-configurations of…you guessed it, things you read or media you listened to. Social media gave us media you shared.
And social media as we soon found out—isn’t always social. There are trolls. Polarization. Misunderstandings.
So what is next? We believe it is media you actually participate in. What if you could actually talk to people—any time, from anyone in the world—about subjects that really matter? What if every day, there was a group of people you could jump on a phone call with—people who want to solve some of the most difficult problems on the planet, people who are insightful and articulate and helpful. People who want to take action.
