Not watching this season of FX’s animated comedy series Archer? Alex Yarde thinks this is the perfect time to start!
So far the the fifth season of Archer has given me all the ’80s kitsch I demand. A sweet Top Gun “Danger Zone” spoof. The whole seasons motif is a love letter to ’80s defining TV series Miami Vice, with the titular character not so super spy Archer in full Don Johnson mode—white DB suit, ’80s shades, loafers sans socks—and the series now titled Archer Vice. And Ninjas, lots and lots of Ninjas…
Next On FX’s smash hit animated comedy series, Archer Vice, Christian Slater and Fred Armisen lend their voices to the animated characters “Slater” and “Gustavo Calderon.” Archer avoids crash landing in a dangerous swamp only to come face-to-face with a shady arms dealer (Slater). The episode titled “Archer Vice: On the Carpet” in all its pastel glory airs next Monday, March 24 at 10:00 PM ET/PT only on FX. Here’s a quick preview-
Am I the only one that thinks this season of Archer Vice is prime for a Grand Theft Auto type video game along the lines of the awesome GTA Vice City? Just imagine the dialogue in the cutscenes! The Dirty South/Country Soundtrack! Ninjas! FX Network, Floyd County Productions & Rockstar Games PLEASE get started on that and take my money already! This season, one of the latest schemes of the dysfunctional, ISIS office members (the spy agency led by Archer’s corrosive mother Mallory a boozy, domineering mom lording over her maladjusted son played brilliantly by Arrested Development Matriarch Jessica Walter) is trying to reinvent mentally unstable former secretary Cheryl/Carol Tunt into country music superstar Cherlene. The concept album was produced by Kevn Kinney (of the band Drivin ‘n’ Cryin) and features Jessy Lynn Martens as the singing voice of Cheryl/Cherlene, the twelve-track album contains songs Archer fans and music geeks alike will love. Oh and if you missed Kenny Loggins & Cherlene’s duet of the seminal ’80’s classic Danger Zone off the Cherlene Soundrack, take a listen below. You can purchase a copy of the awesome Cherlene Album here . You’re welcome ATG readers!
