When did the human race become so damn cynical? What happened?
Happy New Year! Even before Christmas, I was seeing cynical memes on social media about “oh God, here come the new year, new me posts.” Usually it’s a picture of Robert Downey Jr. rolling his eyes from an Iron Man movie.
Are you committed to creating a new you because you want to or because you believe you have to?

I’ve spoken about commitment before. Are you committed to creating a new you because you want to or because you believe you have to?
Try this: I want you to take a deep breath. In through your nose and out through your nose with a slight constriction in the back of your throat. Make it a slow three count each way.
Where in your chest did that breath come from? Did it come from your upper chest and your throat? Or did it come from your diaphragm and your belly?
Let’s breathe from our bellies for a while. Life flows a lot smoother that way.
I use this to illustrate a point. As the calendar shifted, you too will shift. That is, if you let yourself shift.
People’s energies are never in a straight line. There are times when our energy flows better. There are times when our energy is repressed. There are times when our energy is stuck. There are times when our energy is unstoppable.
Quick check, was that above paragraph words? Am I still writing in American English? I was so close to talking about chakras, I had to rein myself back in.
The more that I start understanding this aural energy stuff, the more I feel like I need to look at my own writing like a confused dog. It’s like I have a block against it. It’s like people who believe in that stuff need to be light and airy women. I’m a guy who’s into football, MMA, and pro wrestling.
As I’ve mentioned in this space before, this next month is going to be insane. I’m in process of moving to the New York area. I’m scared. I’m anxious. And I’m terrified that I’m about to make the biggest mistake of my life.
I had what some would call a panic attack the other day about this. My mind started spinning out of control and it scared the hell out of me. To take away the significance, I prefer to call it a nutty. But I think doctors would call it a panic attack.
One visceral feeling I had during this was that everything from the middle of my chest through the crown of my head was tingling. I couldn’t breathe from my gut and diaphragm. I had cottonmouth.
After I brought myself back down, I reached out to my dear friend and coaching teammate Emily. Speaking of light and airy women, she’s a big believer in energy readings and the like. And she said something pretty pointed to me.
I mentioned that I felt like lost five pounds because the tightness was gone.
“Energy weight is a real thing.”
Resisting your true nature is an invitation for anxiety, anger, and fear to creep back into your life. In times like that, that’s when you feel like you’ve got the weight of the world not only on your shoulders, but sitting on your chest.

If you think about it logically, resisting your true nature is an invitation for anxiety, anger, and fear to creep back into your life. In times like that, that’s when you feel like you’ve got the weight of the world not only on your shoulders, but sitting on your chest.
And digging its stiletto heel into your lungs and heart.
Wait…too dramatic? Look, I’ve got “stuff” too, y’all!
My point in this article is this: in 2017 don’t resist your true nature. Don’t resist who you truly are. And remember the words of an up and coming English musician named MacArthur…or McCardle…
Or is it McCarter? Man, I can’t remember. He was in some band back in the 60s. I think they were somewhat popular.
“Let it be.”
What better time than now to light the fire on your life? I would be honored to connect with you to support you in uncovering your true nature. Here’s how to connect with me:

Look, there’s a lot to be said for starting fresh and new for a new year. And if you’ve got some big plans for 2017, there’s no better time than now to get supported.
Feel that. Feel the shift. Ride the wave. And own this year like you’ve never owned anything else before!
And heed the words of Sir Paul. C’mon men!
