Many of us still have lower brain reactions to past pain and trauma that keep us locked in patterns of behavior that no longer make sense.

We all have some “protective umbrellas” that were built by trauma and pain and maintained by avoidance, which may have helped us survive a painful childhood but now have become obstacles to becoming the person we want to be.

This is really good advice. A couple days ago I nearly wrecked my motorcycle when I hit a slick patch on the pavement while turning. I could easily have avoided driving it again, but since I was aware of the lesson that the video is teaching, I went back earlier today to drive the road slowly and see what would happen.
