Entire lives have been spent looking for love.
Not understanding love is our nature, disguised as ourselves.
Not understanding we don’t need to look for what we already have.
Instead, this natural love is covered by stress, worry, self-doubt and shame. We pretend we aren’t afraid, stopping us from feeling the full power of the love already inside us.
We resist saying yes to the full power of love because, in doing so, we know we are signing up to be hurt. To get our hearts ripped open. Exposing our hearts to deep pain.
We resist the idea of slowing down our lives long enough for love to catch up with us under the guise of missing out on something more important. Still believing we need to find love, search for it, be in pursuit of that one thing that will bring us love. Not realizing that one thing is us.
But what if the marker of true success was living your life as if love was a force of nature. As if you were a conduit for love. By asking the question “How am I letting love come through me?”
When we close our eyes, to look only through the lens of love, judgements, burdens, withholding, exclusion all quietly slip away. Leaving us with expansive, endless, infinite love and acceptance.
What is a conduit of love?
• A being who is able to love without ownership of another.
• A being who accepts those around them without trying to change them.
• A being who is able to offer love without expecting something in return.
• A being who is able to alter the course of the world.
The last few months have been filled with fear for many. Fear of the unknown, fear for the next four years, fear of the recognition of our own wounds in the broken lives and endless struggles of those around us.
However, there is no force in the universe better able to alter fear from its course than love.
Meeting the world with love, kindness and compassion is the only strength we have. Using our voices to speak the truth, living our lives as though this truth were true, fully believing light is more powerful than darkness.
This is how we become conduits of love.
This is how we become transparent messengers of grace.
This is how we alter the course of fear, alter the course of hate, alter the course of everything.
This is how we love where love has not yet gone.
Not by being of service to love, but by becoming one with it. Letting love flow freely through you to live in the hearts of others.
Not by taking the right stand, but by standing in the right place. By standing in awe of the burdens others carry, not judging how they are being carried.
Not by relegating the outcasts to the margins, but by imagining their life as yours. By not only feeling the pain of others, but by bringing them towards you, towards love. By letting them in. By becoming equals in true kinship.
This is how we teach ourselves our own loveliness. How we foster tenderness for our own sacredness and undefended hearts, creating space for others as well as all that we have become.
This is how we change the world.
Become a conduit of love.
