I’m a dad of three kids. I waited for many years to find a lady crazy enough to put up with me. While I was waiting, I tried to learn everything possible about marriage, family and raising children. God sent me Wendy, a real angel.
I serve men and families through my own Hanhart Ministries, as well as Lutheran Men in Mission. As a flight paramedic, I see people at their worst. The potential loss of loved ones in sometimes unlivable environments. Unfortunately, I know all the ‘dangers’ of life.
My family and I also rescue alligators and wild hogs to educate people in live shows with Gator Country.
Quote.
Any man can be a father, but it takes someone special to be a dad. – Unknown
What I do well as a dad.
I work hard to protect my kids, yet prepare them for the real world. I also teach my kids to live by the Golden Rule.
What I learned from another dad.
Gary, a close friend of mine, shared these words of advice. “I love you man, and I love those kids. You’ve gotta let them grow.”
Lesson learned from my child.
We married late, our children are young, I have a dangerous job, and dangerous loves. There’s so much to teach, and potentially little time. After reading them ‘The Precious Present,’ they taught me how to live it, to listen more, and enjoy each moment.
Successful fatherhood moment.
The doctor wouldn’t come in, and the nurses wouldn’t listen. They sent Wendy home with medication to help her rest. Six hours later Jules, my two-year-old, and I delivered her brother Eddie.
Dad I admire.
A dad named. Danny. He has faced many challenges and found ways to overcome them. He raised three Godly children, to whom family means everything.
