It’s never easy for two people to get along all the time. No matter how good the feelings are, or how much love there is, conflicts will always arise.
When conflicts arise, we sometimes lose control of our emotions and start doubting each other, feeling like the other person might not be the right fit. Sometimes, we even say we want to break up in the heat of the moment.
In relationships, there are some people who like to casually throw around the idea of breaking up.
At the slightest disagreement, they’ll say they want to break up or that they’re not going to put up with it anymore. Of course, most of the time, they don’t really mean it; they’re just venting.
However, whether it’s because we’re unhappy and want to get back at the other person or because we want to feel needed and hope the other person will comfort us, when we’re not really willing to end the relationship, we shouldn’t casually threaten to break up.
Constant Breakup Threats Make the Other Person Feel Insecure.
When two people are in love, women need to feel secure, and men do too.
In the end, when we hope the other person will firmly choose us, they also hope our love will be just as firm. When we’re together, they want to feel a sense of stability and security.
This sense of security doesn’t come out of nowhere; it requires a lot of details to come together. In this process, our behavior is crucial, and so is our language.
Think about it: when we’re with someone, even if they’re usually nice to us, if they constantly threaten to break up with us, saying it multiple times a month or even every day, we’ll eventually feel really bad.
We’ll feel like their love isn’t that firm, and they’re always uncertain.
When someone does this to us, we think, “Why do they always say they want to break up with me?” When we do this to someone we love, they’ll think the same.
Since we don’t want the other person to feel this way, and we want them to feel secure with us, we should be mindful of our words and actions, not constantly saying hurtful things or threatening to break up.
As adults, especially in a romantic relationship, we need to keep our emotions stable as much as possible. Only when our emotions are stable can the relationship be more stable.
The Other Person Will Take It Seriously and Feel We Don’t Love Them.
Of course, when we truly love someone, but say we want to break up because of some issues, in our hearts, we know we don’t really want to break up. As long as the other person accommodates us and says some nice things, we’ll get over it and move on.
However, the other person can’t really understand our thoughts.
In their heart, they’ll think, “If you really love me, you wouldn’t say you want to break up so easily.” When we constantly say we want to break up, they’ll think we’re not serious about this relationship.
The person we love can’t really understand our thoughts; they can only judge our intentions based on our actions. Since that’s the case, they won’t always be accurate.
Once the other person misunderstands our intentions and feels like we’re not willing to be with them in the long run, it will greatly affect the relationship and make our hearts drift further apart.
In the end, when we constantly say we want to break up, even if we make up every time, the relationship will only get harder to repair.
Saying It Too Many Times Can Lead to a Real Breakup.
When we constantly say we want to break up, at first, the other person will tolerate it because they still have feelings for us. They’ll just be hurt for a while and then continue to love us.
However, as time goes on and we’re together for a longer period, the other person won’t always tolerate us.
They’ll easily think, “Since you want to break up so badly, why don’t I just let you have your way?” Then, when we say we want to break up again, they’ll directly agree.
Maybe we’ve said we want to break up hundreds of times, but it’s not really what we mean. However, once the other person agrees, it usually means they’ve really given up and don’t want to continue the relationship.
One day, when the other person decides to let go of us, it may seem like they’re being heartless, but in reality, we’re also responsible.
Rather than constantly listening to our breakup threats and not knowing when it’ll end, the other person will be more willing to terminate the relationship and start anew, finding someone who makes them feel more secure.
In relationships, lies and threats can lead to mistrust. Saying we want to break up too many times can make it come true.
No one wants to love someone who’s always threatening to leave. No matter how much love there is, a person’s patience is limited.
Remember, in a romantic relationship, we shouldn’t constantly threaten to break up.
In life, when dealing with others, we need to learn to control our words and actions. When dealing with someone we love, we need to be even more mindful of our words and actions.
The closer we are, the more we shouldn’t speak carelessly and should consider the other person’s feelings.
If we love someone, we need to truly love them and cherish this relationship.
Many times, when we have something on our minds, we can directly communicate with the other person and have a good conversation without using breakup threats to vent or threaten them.
A good relationship isn’t born with us; it requires our effort to nurture it.
Only by learning to speak well and treat each other with kindness can this relationship last and be happy.
