Dating has transformed over the last decade.
If you’re coming out of a 10-year relationship, prepare for a culture shock.
Here’s how I’d recommend guys in this situation get back into the dating game.
…
Beware of dating apps
If you’re a man going through heartache and you’ve never used a dating app, please know they could make you feel even worse.
Data shows that only the top 20% of attractive men get any sort of success on dating apps. You might be a real catch, but swiping through Tinder could easily make you feel worthless.
Also, the types of women actively looking for dates on Tinder, Bumble and Hinge aren’t always long-term relationship material.
If you are secure enough to play this online dating game, I’d recommend investing in a professional photoshoot with a photographer who specialises in dating app photos. They should help you stand out above the cesspit of average male profiles.
…
Make use of social media
A decade ago, swapping phone numbers was the best way to stay in contact with romantic prospects. If you still do that now, you’re putting yourself at a massive disadvantage.
Ever since Instagram introduced the messaging feature in 2013, it has been the superior way to keep in touch with women.
Instagram acts as your romantic business card. It shows what an exciting lifestyle you lead, without you having to brag about it. Post regularly and the women you’re pursuing will be reminded how awesome you are, without you having to reach out to them.
Sending cold DMs on Instagram is only worth the effort if you’re a top 1% guy, but all men should be swapping Instagram details with the women they meet.
The only guys who are resistant to messaging women through Instagram are those without exciting lives. And why would modern women want to date them anyway?
Invest a few seconds into snapping and uploading your daily activities. It’ll pay dividends.
…
Put yourself out there
A lot of men let fear of rejection stop them approaching women they want to talk to, especially those who haven’t done it in a decade
So, after 10+ years out of the game, your first step should be to get used to approaching women and starting conversations. Learn to enjoy this regardless of the outcome.
If a woman is excited to keep talking to you, push it forwards by all means. But your first goal should be learning to enjoy mingling as a single man.
That means NOT getting upset if you go home with no-one’s contact details. These results will come with time, but you need to learn to have fun above everything else.
…
Build a great life outside of pursuing women
Another key component of enjoying the single life is making the most of your new-found freedom.
You should find you have more time to explore your hobbies and hang out with your friends. Use that!
This will do so much to help you get over your break-up and stop you being desperate for a new woman in your life.
And, ironically enough, that’ll make you 10x more attractive to the women you meet.
…
Don’t listen to this awful online ‘red pill’ content
A decade ago, there was a ton of useful ‘pick-up artist’ content showing men how to attract women.
This content got ‘cancelled’ from YouTube in 2019 — and the void has been filled by ‘red pill’ influencers.
Red pill content became popular due to the insane growth of sexless men in the West. But it doesn’t do anything to solve the problem. It just reveals the dark secrets of female nature and complains how awful women are.
If you’re fresh out of a break-up, I’d recommend avoiding this ragebait content and using the time saved to meet women in the real world.
Do that and you’ll realize that there are still plenty of great women out there.
