“Your biggest risk isn’t failing, it’s getting too comfortable.”
Dropbox CEO Drew Houston
It is time to wake up and become aware. Awareness marks the beginning of change. Start to notice little things around you––in a conscious way.
Once you realize how much power you have as a creative person, you will feel compelled to do something about it. Know that you are already worthy––now. You just need encouragement. We all do. You may be so wrapped up in your life that you may not even understand how amazing you truly are. You need to begin to feel it inside and trust it.
We are all born as artists and creators. You are the artist, designer, and maker of your life. All that occurs in your life happens because you allow it. Take control and start designing your life. If you do not believe that you are an artist, it is because you were told you weren’t when you were young––you weren’t encouraged to remain creative. You can easily get your creativity back once you realize it has always been there.
Life only gets better and better the more you become aware of what it is and reconnect with who you are. By the way, saying that you can’t live on your terms because you have kids is a huge cop-out (after the “I’m too old” cop-out). Come on! Get into the game of life. What else are you doing? Have fun with your life. Make life fun and enjoyable.
Excuses are too easily made and too quickly accepted. Whenever you tell someone you can’t do something (because of your responsibilities, commitments, kids…) not only are you getting yourself off the hook, but you’re getting the other person off the hook, too. You are saying it is fine to stay in mediocrity. Decide to stop making excuses now. Let’s change the paradigm and reclaim our status as empowered humans.
When you begin to take charge of your life and realize that you are creating what is happening to you, you are building a new future for yourself and your family. Work to change yourself from the inside out. Work on your character, competence, initiative, positive energy. We all need to anchor our sense of identity––to rediscover our strengths and talents.
Find out and know what you value––what holds meaning to you. Uniquely you. I used to live by the societal rules––or at least tried to. I was on autopilot quite often and believed much of what I heard. Little nudges and thoughts would pop up to me––to open my eyes and wake me up. I have found that new awakening moments will continuously occur if you notice and allow them. Today is the day. Today is your day. Don’t let normalcy suck the beauty of life out of you.
Decide today that you are going to raise the bar of your life. There are very few excuses for not doing––for not living an optimal life. To keep going further in your life, blind faith is essential. Jump into life and let it happen. Go as far as you can––and when you’re almost there, triple your intentions. Suspending your belief to get to the next place in your life. When you begin to allow the best for you and your family, perspectives and circumstances begin to change. Changing your thinking for the better creates newness and beauty in life. We all deserve this.
Break free from the idea of competition––get into the creative and authentic mode. When you are yourself, there is zero competition. Do what you are doing as great as possible, but keep shooting for more. No more complaining. It is said that fools complain, condemn, and criticize. Once you start focusing on yourself and growing forward, you will no longer need to engage in these negative behaviors. The tranquil heart cares not what others think.
