When you can’t find the light through the darkness
I’ll walk beside you and shine for you.
When your heart is heavy, and your feet won’t move
I’ll walk with you and lend my strength.
When your mind is racing and won’t calm down
I’ll sit beside you and be your anchor.
When the world around you is like a hurricane
I’ll be your harbor from the storm.
When pain is all you can feel or see
Hold my hand; I’ll be your peace.
When it’s all too much and you’re overwhelmed
Hand me your burdens and I’ll carry them.
As long as I’m breathing, you won’t be alone.
Unless that’s your current need.
If you need me, I will always come.
I’ll be your safe place until my journey’s done.
…
I hope that all of my people know that they can truly count on me. I will always show up if I know they need me.
Loyalty and love make the world go ’round, as far as I’m concerned. If I count you as my people, I’ll always show up. You just have to tell me when you need me to.
I hope most of all that both of my girls know this, that there will never be a time I won’t be there for them in any way I possibly can, even if all I can manage is to lie beside them in their pain.
They are my world and my reason, and I can’t wait to be a witness to each one’s life journey.
Love and peace, y’all.
