We all have Daddy Issues, I guess the goal for me is to make sure I’m communicating my intentions with my challenges. Anaya didn’t want to learn how to swim she was terrified, but our priority is her safety. One thing I could’ve done better was be more gentle in my approach, I see that now. As I’m navigating my own #daddyissues I recognize that my children are developing theirs. So I wrote this song to express my gratitude for all Daddies with Daddy Issues. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBiOl…

down
i’ve been trying to get down
i’ve been
i don’t know too many people without
daddy issues and looking at it now
you’re probably thinking she’s gonna
have a lot of her own i’m forcing her to
learn how to swim i put her in the trust
of someone else she didn’t know and i
didn’t give her any options but i need
her to understand that on the other side
of fear is freedom and as long as i’m
alive i’m gonna do my all to keep my
promise to her just like our father does
for us
i know some step daddies who go harder
than fathers and a lot of baby daddies
who go harder than all of us
[Music]
and let me be the proof that you can be
more than you had i know you’re tired
and it’s hard to believe in god and when
you’re feeling close to that jesus is
feeling far i know you fake it for your
friends and you feel like a fraud i know
you’re trying to stay out of trouble and
do your job but if we don’t break the
cycle then our future
