Admit it. Some of this stuff is still pretty unbelievable.

1. We have a toy car on Mars.
And it’s taking selfies. SELFIES.
2. Some dude 3D printed a robot that can beat any human in air hockey…
And he did it in his spare time. Like, “NBD. My pet project surpasses the limits of human hand-eye coordination.”
3. …and we’re 3D printing ears, jaws, organs, arms, and all sorts of marvelous things.
3D printing isn’t just for doodads anymore. It’s changing lives.
4. Scientists uploaded a worm’s brain into a robot.
This robot thinks it’s a worm. Yes. This is the real.
4. A venture capital firm promoted an algorithm to its board of trustees last year.
The algorithm, named VITAL, will vote on investment decisions just like the other five human members of the board.
5. “Everyone to your hoverboard,” she fabled.
You know that whole “doesn’t work on water” thing? Mankind figured that out too.
6. And finally: mind control actually exists.
Researchers were able to transmit human thought over the internet. One volunteer thought about pressing a button to fire a cannon in a video game. Another volunteer in another room pressed the button — without knowing he was controlling the game.

Random technical question, but I really am curious:
How did the Mars rover take a picture of itself? There’s no arm holding the camera for a selfie, so the camera must have been separate from the rover itself. Did it place a camera and then take its picture remotely?
