Just like everything in life, forging a successful book marketing path comes down to knowing what the heck you’re doing–and making sure that you are executing a few selective initiatives well. These are the topics we covered in this week’s podcast:
- Social media and other marketing. The biggest mistake you can make is releasing your book to radio silence. It might feel uncomfortable, but this is the time to be a big mouth. This is the time to share your incredible undertaking. Make a plan, like any other campaign, and stick to it!
- Podcasting. Get on podcasts and start your own. Period. Talk about your book in the easiest and most economical venue available. Get in on it.
- Listen to the show…hahaha! You knew that was coming! (We have to make you work for it a little bit!)
Today, marketing your book has become almost as important as writing it. When you work with a publisher, it’s absolutely expected that you will have a large part in advertising. And whether you are self-publishing, or publishing through a publisher, commit to rolling out a strategic plan to get people to buy your book.
