Continues from Questioning The Societal Norm of Parenthood Part 3a
A healthy economy can encourage people to have kids. Currently, many people think that the economy has improved and unemployment rate has decreased, due to President Trump.
I never recommend that people believe official government statistics because they’re always skewed to make a favorable impression. There’s many cities and towns nationwide that are still suffering from the last recession.
The government employs some predictive programming to inspire confidence in the economy.
If the news is saying that the economy is improving and unemployment is lower, the majority of people are going to spend more money. As more money is spent, the economy doesn’t improve or worsen but it maintains.
If you’re a minimalist like myself, you’re adhering to a budget to maximize your savings and live a higher quality of life.
Nevertheless, in a world where robots and AI are going to eventually take over the jobs of many Americans, it’s actually in America’s best interest not to have kids because their parents might actually be out of a job.
Just imagine when the technologies, like self-driving cars, are commercialized and deemed safe. Once driverless cars are as safe as human driving, just imagine all of the driver jobs that will be lost.
There are the CDL jobs like the tractor trailer drivers, the bus drivers (public transit, private transit, and school transit), and the paratransit drivers for the elderly and disabled.
So, that’s a half million (if not more) lost jobs to robotics and AI technology. So, more people are having less kids actually makes their economic situation better because they have less expenses.
The article also states that people, who have less kids, can invest more in a child’s K-12 education, which means that instead of putting their kid(s) in a mediocre public school, they can afford to put their kid(s) in private school.
