I’ve seen squirrels do some crazy things, but this critter puts them on a run for their money with this acrobatic feat.
The DailyMail spotted this stealthy racoon:
An astonishing video of a raccoon tightrope walking on two legs between power lines catches the critter easily living up to its reputation as one of nature’s sneakiest creatures.
Moving one claw and paw at a time while standing straight up like a human, the animal carefully shimmies between the two lines, with the excited reaction by the woman filming the stunt only adding to its charm.
When I was little, my parents’ house had a large deck with several bird feeders and suet feeders right across the street from a state park. As a result, we always had a lot of animals passing through our yard. But the ones that were the most amazing were the squirrels who, despite the squirrel-blocking architecture would somehow find a way to get on a power line and fall strategically onto the feeder and eat themselves silly.
I only ever saw raccoons do the same thing as opossums — they would sneak onto the deck after dark and try to scrounge up any leftovers. They never seemed overly aerobatic or interested in much else, but the one in the video certain was!
Have you had any backyard critters do something similar?

The Wheaton Park Dist in Illinois has what’s called a “Ropes Course” which is 20 feet above the ground and 40 feet long. It’s a experiential course where guys are teamed up and work the course. Tethered, they do similar tasks as what this raccoon is doing. Take the task with a little more difficult, one of the courses had similar rope configuration but the ropes are crisscrossed.
