“It’s a team thing,” said second baseman Jason Kipnis. “It started with Mike’s daughter because of what she’s going through. Unfortunately, she’s going to be losing her hair soon from chemotherapy and we all wanted to join in.”
It surely isn’t an easy time for Aviles’ family right now, but to know his teammates have his back has to be pretty special.
Aviles shared with his daughter that the guys on his ballclub have her back too:
Aviles shaved his head and told his daughter "All of daddy's friends did it too." #Indians

This is what sports and teams are all about. You have each other’s back and you support and care for each other. At the end of the day sports don’t mean anything if you don’t have friends and family to enjoy them with.
