You get one of “those pictures” at 3AM. Except it’s not what you usually get. Darianna Jones takes you through how to handle it.
It’s about 3AM, and your phone buzzes. It’s your friend, Tony, the gay guy you hang out with and text every now and then. Apparently you dozed off in the middle of your conversation with him earlier, and he’s sent you a picture. You get ready to tell him you’re clocking out for the night, but once you open the text, horror sets in.
Tony has just sent you a picture of his penis.
So, what do you do? How do you handle this? What is he thinking?
Here’s a few steps to get you through this situation:
Don’t Panic
Keep your cool. This is probably the first time this has ever happened, right? And you have no earthly idea what you did or said that told this guy that you were okay with him sending you a picture of his penis. Remain calm and make sure no one’s looking over your shoulder.
In the gay world, dick pics are actually (and sadly) a part of the regular dating scene. For many of us, receiving these types of pics is almost a daily nuisance occurrence. Just imagine getting pictures of boobs sent to you just about every time you chatted with a girl on OkCupid. See? Perspective.
Delete the Picture Immediately
Obviously, don’t sit and stare at it. You know what they look like, don’t you? Delete that photo as fast as you can before your girlfriend rolls over to check on you at 3AM and finds your forehead beading with sweat as you gaze at a picture of another man’s penis.
Once You’ve Cooled Off, THEN Respond
Before you text back “WTF, dude I’m not gay! WTF is wrong with you???”, take a moment and think of the right way to respond to this. Is this a friend you know or someone who randomly got your number? If it’s a friend, try to think of how and when things went WAY left and lead to this. Did you accidentally at some point send a “;)” instead of a “:)” giving the wrong idea? Are you a guy that is comfortable with himself and doesn’t mind the company of gay men? See if there was a miscommunication somewhere before writing him off as “just trying to get into your pants all along”.
If this is a stranger who’s just randomly texting you, then it’s best to just nip it in the bud right then and block the person if necessary. Just as women don’t like to be harassed by guys, I’m sure it works the same way for you.
Communicate That You’re Not Interested
You don’t like other guys that way. Simple. So just respond and tell him. Explain that it wasn’t your intention to send the wrong signals to this person, but you’re not gay and do not wish to receive nude photos from him. He may stop texting you all together after that, but if he pursues, well, that’s what blocking features are for. Use them.
Don’t Sweat It
So, a guy sent you a picture of his penis. That doesn’t make you gay. It actually should make you feel more attractive. Wait, so you get boob pictures sent to you AND dick pics? Guys AND girls are trying to hit you up at all hours of the night? You must be hott! We’re still spelling “hott” with two t’s, right?
As gay men slowly move into the sector of acceptance among heterosexual men, these things will occasionally happen. Don’t freak out. Just communicate you’re not interested, make sure your girlfriend doesn’t see what you received, delete it, and go from there.
What do you think? Leave a Comment!

First I would call the police and have him arrested. If the prosecutor chose not to prosecute, I would file a civil lawsuit against him, make him submit to depositions and do everything I could to publicly humiliate him. Don’t do that to me. I don’t really have to worry, I have no gay friends. Its perverted and disgusting. Only this site would publish an article dealing with such an issue.
If somebody deliberately exposed their genitals to you in person without your permission, it would be considered a form of sexual harassment, and in many jurisdictions, it would also be a crime that could put that person on the sexual offender registry. If somebody sends another person unsolicited pictures of his/her genitals, that is also sexual harassment. Any maybe it could be a crime in some places too. http://www.legis.ga.gov/Legislation/en-US/display/20132014/HB/157 Anyway, if non-consensual sexting is a form of sexual harassment, I don’t see why anybody who receives any such harassment should be told “Don’t Sweat It.” Sexual harassment should not be… Read more »
Tom: To go as far as to send a pic to someones phone is ridiculous.

I know, right? If you’re gonna flash me, have the courtesy to do it in person!
Man or women sending me naked pics is called “end of a friendship.” It’s insulting and highly disrespectful. Bill, it’s sad in general that we’ve come to a point in society, that which used to be behind the counter, covered up is now common. To go as far as to send a pic to someones phone is ridiculous.

OMG, that would be horrific!
“Hey! That looks just a cock, but smaller! ” then block the number.
