Novak Djokovic is upset that female tennis players make the same amount of prize money as their male counterparts. Wait… What?

He says that male players earn the sport much more money, therefore women should make less. Cenk Uygur and Hannah Cranston hosts of The Young Turks discuss.
Indian Wells CEO Raymond Moore recently said that the WTA ‘ride on the coattails of men,’ before commenting on the attractiveness of tennis ‘lady players.’ Serena Williams responded to those comments. Novak Djokovic added fuel to the fire by claiming men should make more money than women because they have more spectators and added that women go through ‘the hormones and different stuff.’ The Young Turks Cenk Uygur and Hannah Cranston break it down but have opposing reactions to what was said.
Uygur defends Moore, to an extent, but says, “Don’t ever talk about women getting on their knees…if you didn’t mean it that way, the minute it comes out of your mouth you should be like ‘well, I didn’t mean it like that.’” Uygur adds that talking about players’ attractiveness was also a mistake.
Cranston brings up some numbers to show how people are increasingly becoming interested in Women’s tennis. She adds that Williams is more searched on Google compared to Djokovic and Federer combined, “She still is getting some sort of support behind her but is still not given the same opportunities as they are, not enough to really justify the huge pay gap…that is really persistent in this sport.”

Actually, yes. Feminism does belong in Tennis. Especially when male players are pulling more money simply because they are male.
no mention of the fact the men are made to play more games than the women?
That seems the most obvious reason the men are paid more. It’s supposed to be “equal pay for equal work.” not “equal pay because, hey we’d like that.”
