The gadget.
The symbol of modern progress, our gadgets reflect who we are, and how the world sees us. Sites devoted exclusively to gadgets, like Engadget and Gizmodo, are explosively popular right now.
What’s your favorite gadget? iPad, iPod, Nook, Droid?

My netbook and my smartphone are great to have, but the thing I really can’t live without is my iPod.
My iPod provides the soundtrack to my life – it plugs into my home sound systems, my car, and my earphones. Anytime it’s not seen as inappropriate (and sometimes when it is) I will go into my world of music.
The next big gadget is going to be a snug little device which plugs into the bottom of my iPod and lets me switch between wireless transmission of my music to my home sound system, car, or the audio receptor implants in my brain. If it can also talk to iTunes to wirelessly sync and update my on-the-go playlist that would be mighty fine.
