Sunday’s Patriots vs. Jets Game Brings to Mind the Manliness of the Boys from the Meadowlands.
Sixty-Nine.
If you are into numerology that number means something special to you. You guessed it: Super Bowl III when Broadway Joe guaranteed a win over the heavily favored Colts and backed it up with the upset win.
Here’s the Jets hero reflecting on that magical moment:
With Arod striking out to prematurely end the Yankees season, the NBA on strike, and the Stanley Cup now planted up North, it’s time to focus on warming up those airplane wings last seen in Foxboro.
Which macho man is leading the charge? Rex, son of losing coach Buddy and brother of the hippie defensive coordinator for the Cowboys last seen brushing his silver hair out his face while screaming at his d-line in a losing cause on Monday night.
We know more than we really would like to about Rex’s manhood:
And then there is New Yorker Plaxico Burress who got out Rikers Island just in time for this week’s AFC East showdown after serving 20 months stemming from weapons charges that involved shooting himself in the leg at a NYC nightclub with am illegal gun.
(Just one small concession here to Ryan O’Hanlon, our GMP managing editor, to whom this love letter is addressed: Celtic Delonte West was pulled over on the Jersey Turnpike with a guitar case on his back concealing a collection of weapons capable of holding off the Navy Seals. When asked by the officer whether he was carrying he replied, “No officer. Do you think I’m crazy?”)
43 years is a heck of a stretch between championships, but Rex has been guaranteeing a super bowl championship in recent days. He went so far as to make fun of coach Bill B’s status as an inductee in the Wesleyan University Hall of Fame (as a Wes Cardinal myself that really pissed me off).
“It’s Belichick versus I,” Ryan said, referring to this weekend’s Jets-Patriots matchup. “And I just wanted everybody to understand that, I mean, you’re talking about two hall of famers here. All right? Because we know he’s going to have a bust in Canton (Ohio) and all that — that other, minor Hall of Fame. But, what I’m talking about is Belichick; I don’t know if you’re aware of it, he is a hall of famer from Wesleyan University. Now, I’m of course a hall of famer from Southwestern … It boils down to two hall of famers butting heads. So that’s why I’ll wear the jacket today.”
Funny, since Brady has a few more rings than Sanchez.
Why is Rex so confident?
Because the Jets are manly men.
Yeah, right.

The Jets are shit this year. All that’s left to be seen is whether Sanchez’s QB rating will be lower than the age of the high school girls he likes to date. I’ll be there tomorrow watching Bill Belichick pummel those Gang Green losers into the Gillette Stadium turf.
GO PATS!
That’s just a rumor…uhmkay…you cant prove that in court…
G O JETS ALL DAY EVERYDAY!!! MY SUFFERING MUST NOT BE IN VAIN.
