Marlon Wayans is a laugh riot in his new standup ‘Woke ish’
I have been a fan of Marlon Wayans for a long time. Ever since he was on In Living Color he has always made me laugh. He continued to make me laugh on The Wayans Brothers. He has grown much as a comedian since then, but he is still very funny. When I heard he was doing a new standup special on Netflix called ‘Woke ish’, I was excited to check it out. I was able to get a screener of this special and this is my thoughts on it.
You can read the plot for Woke ish here:
Comedian and actor Marlon Wayans brings down the house in his honest, energetic and animated debut Netflix Original stand-up comedy special, Marlon Wayans: Woke-ish. Filmed at MGM National Harbor’s The Theater in Washington D.C. in front of a packed audience, Wayans doesn’t miss a beat as he opens people’s eyes about the White House feeling like a reality show, jokes about rappers aging with their music, addresses the blatant racism in America, and reflects on the conversations he’s had with his teenage children.
Woke ish was a hilarious standup special. Lots of the jokes were hardcore, and some went farther than I expected them to. Yet I laughed quite often at many of the jokes here. Many others were honest and it was easy to agree with some of the things he said. If you are a fan of Marlon Wayans than you will want to check this special out.
