Micah Bellieu

Micah absolutely LOVES the Spanish language, but becoming fluent wasn’t an easy journey. She made plenty of mistakes along the way and spent eight years and tens of thousands of dollars on traditional language-learning methods that focused too much on grammar rules and academics rather than actually learning to speak confidently. She knew all the grammar rules, but most of the time, couldn't understand Spanish speakers. And even when she did understand, she couldn't respond easily. It wasn’t until she shifted her approach to a natural way of acquiring a language that she finally achieved fluency—not just in Spanish, but also in French and intermediate Japanese.

After 8 years of those academic Spanish classes, she decided to completely immerse herself in Spanish, even if it was sometimes awkward. What she learned is that it works, much more effectively, and much more quickly. Not only that, she intuitively could understand and respond - similar to her confidence in English! Acquiring a language, not 'learning' it, was the key to fluency.
For the next 15 years, Micah researched language acquisition, learned French, took 1000 hours of Japanese conversation classes, and took teacher training by master immersion teachers.

Through trial and error classes, methods and writing curriculum, The Bellieu Method slowly emerged and developed.

She started Fluency Corp, a corporate language training company for Fortune 500 organizations globally, teaching executives such as the CEO of Toyota, and the CFO of L'Oreal.

One her top passions - teaching children Spanish at an early age, so they didn't have to go through what she went through - was still in her mind.
So she started TruFluency Kids Spanish Immersion - a unique approach to language acquisition, designed to get kids speaking Spanish confidently from the very first class, using original storybooks, songs and lots of silliness, to create memorable experiences. Unlike traditional methods that prioritize memorization and verb conjugations, the Bellieu Method for TruFluency Kids emphasizes practical communication, surprising experiences (memorable!), and real-life application.

She currently resides in Dallas, TX with her trilingual daughter who often asks, "What language are we speaking?" when they arrive at a party. Her daughter speaks French because Micah decided to only speak to her in French since birth. "It's challenging," she says, "but completely worth it in the long run." She also loves yoga to quiet her whizzing mind, and traveling to France and Mexico yearly.
