Justin Awad is a viral content creator on a mission to bring purpose and education to the dark depths of social media. What started as a hobby during his first year of college quickly became a viral sensation, amassing nearly 2 million followers across all his social media platforms over the past two years.
Using humor and wit, Justin has created content that not only entertains viewers but also educates them on topics they may have yet to become familiar with. His videos are filled with questions about everything from history to current events to science trivia, but the answers he gets shed light on the rather defeating fact.
Despite having access to the Internet, the world’s most extensive knowledge base, many people around the U.S. still lack basic knowledge. For example, among the many answers, Justin discovered that people think America was founded in 1962, there are 100 stars on the US flag, and thousand days in one year.
“Wherever you turn, people are glued to their screens. It seems that their phones never leave their hands. They are always browsing something and consuming content. But the sad truth is that most are not doing anything productive.”
“Some people think I’m mean to those who don’t know basic things, but I’m not. I’m just going around asking simple questions,” adds Justin. “The fact that people I interview don’t have elementary-level knowledge is alarming.”
Justin’s goal is to create a relaxed, comedic, and entertaining environment to bring attention to this issue while providing educational resources for those who want and need them.
To ensure his message reaches as many people as possible, he uses various platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, as well as his Yes&Co clothing brand while collaborating with other creators to get his message across. He hopes that by doing this, more people will become aware of how important it is for everyone in society to have access to quality education.
“I want my content to be seen as more than just entertainment — it’s meant for learning too,” says Justin Awad. “It’s my hope that people can take away something from each video, whether it be a new fact or simply being inspired by the idea of continuing their own self-education journey.”
On top of that, Justin Awad explains that when the time comes, he has plans to tackle the issue of people’s mental and physical health and well-being with his content. His passion for this topic began when he became a pre-med student, as it was then that he realized that besides basic knowledge, people are not aware that self-care is an essential part of life.
He believes that by creating content about physical and mental health, more people will become aware of the importance of caring for their bodies and minds. “I always had a passion for helping other people, and I believe it’s my duty to use my influence responsibly,” says Justin.
“The same passion led me to pursue a career in medicine as well. I’m currently in my pre-med program, studying for the MCAT, but I hope to become a family physician one day because I believe that’s the most needed specialty. That way, I could reach and help the most people possible.”
Justin Awad is a true example of how one person can impact the world through social media. His mission to bring purpose and education to the dark depths of social media has brought joy, knowledge, and entertainment to millions around the globe while also raising awareness about pressing issues.
Through his inspiring story, we can see that even small changes in our lives can make big impacts on those around us. That’s why we should all learn something from Justin’s story and strive to use our influence responsibly. Who knows, maybe tomorrow, we will be the ones to make a difference in the lives of others. As Justin puts it, we are all in the same boat together.
“We should work together to ensure that we all have access to the knowledge and resources we need to learn, grow, thrive, and make a meaningful change in the world,” he says.
“Education is the key to success no matter where you go. Knowledge will open so many doors for you, and it doesn’t matter if you have the money and status. If you are willing to invest in yourself and take the time to learn, you can achieve incredible things every time.”
