When I am in bed, the last thing I want to do is spend my day tossing and turning because one of my sides is getting uncomfortable.
When I have a companion or partner who shares the same sleeping position as me, there will be no fighting over who should switch — it’s that easy.
So, here are five of my favorite sleeping positions for couples.
…
1. Spoon
One of the most common and popular sleeping positions is spooning. It is an intimate moment that can happen between partners or friends.
The person who is sleeping on their back will have their legs bent and their knees raised, while the person behind them will wrap their arms around them for extra support or affection.
For couples, spooning is not only romantic but also practical.
It can make a person feel secure and protected. It is ideal for me when I am getting comfortable or just cuddling up.
…
2. Face-to-face
While spooning is a very common position, looking at each other while sleeping is even more intimate. You can make eye contact, share secrets, and gently place your hands on your partner.
This position allows you to see the facial expressions of your partner and vice versa. Since you are already facing each other, there will be no struggle to do so while sleeping. Plus, it is a way of being close to each other without sharing too much bodily warmth yet still getting into an intimate moment together.
3. Cradle
This is an affectionate, comforting position in which one partner rests their head on the other’s chest while their legs are entwined.
This position is usually more comfortable than other sleeping positions because you can share your bed without it being too tight. Plus, since you are in the middle of your partner’s body, this can be a way of feeling close to them while keeping yourself comfortable at the same time.
…
4. Next to each other
This is another position that allows you to feel close to your partner without sharing too much of their body heat.
Once again, this can be an ideal sleeping position for couples and gives a person the luxury of seeing their partner’s face while still having room to turn.
It is also a comfortable position because you can hold each other with your arms if needed, but you don’t need to.
…
5. Spoon again
For those who are still into spooning but want a different twist on the same position, there is the sideways spoon. This is when you face your partner and grab their hands, or have them grab yours.
This allows for the same intimacy, but with your backs turned to each other instead of facing each other. Many couples say this particular position can be very romantic too. Plus, it doesn’t matter if you are small or big — this position works for everyone.
And there you go — five of my favorite sleeping positions for couples.
These can be great ways to snuggle with the one you love without having to struggle to get comfortable at night.
Enjoy your time with your lover and have a good night’s rest!
