Welcome back to another episode of fatherhood. First of all, the kids are supposed to be in bed. I already told them to go brush their teeth, but now they’re trying to stall. They want water, hugs, and kisses, which is all good. We do that all the time because that’s what we’re here for. However, Uriah spilled water. No problem, I told him to clean it up. But when I checked, it wasn’t done properly. So I reminded him to listen and dry off the countertops.
Now here’s the thing: he had the audacity to call me a boy. So I had to address it. First of all, he was stalling and trying to postpone bedtime by seeking love and affection. Then he made a mess by spilling water, causing extra work for me and his mom. I held him accountable and asked him to clean it up. Calling me a boy is absolutely not acceptable. It’s disrespectful.
To teach him a lesson, I channeled my inner Major Pain and made him answer questions while in the plank position. And let me clarify, he didn’t just call me “boy.” I asked him, “Am I a boy?” And I made it clear that I am a grown man.
Now, you might be wondering why Theo is also present. That’s because he had a lot to say as well. Uriah calling me a boy was strike one, and Theo was antagonizing his brother, which was strike two. I was just looking for anything else to get upset about, but it was bedtime, so I told them to go upstairs and sleep.
