A few weeks ago, I was picking my kids up from their dad’s and saw a sign that read, ‘HAPPY IS THE NEW RICH!’ sticking out of someone’s front lawn.
My mind was blown.
I practice cautious optimism as often as I need to. However, there’s $246 in my checking account until payday. My ex took me back to court to give the kids as little support as he could get away with, and I’m okay with both things!
Before I moved out of my parent’s house, I designed my life in a way that stripped my ex of the control he still thinks he has over me.
Why? Because I predicted his tantrum about me moving out into my own place and having a good life without him. Don’t misunderstand me: I love money (especially the smell). I need money. And currency doesn’t equal happiness for me. Seeing my family/friends, playing my guitar, writing, helping humans, and working up a sweat for those glorious endorphins brings me joy, satisfaction, and fulfillment.
I’m rich AF.
Thank you for reading. ❤
