Hope is important because it can make the present moment less difficult to bear. If we believe that tomorrow will be better, we can bear a hardship today.
~~ Thich Nhat Hanh
Life is full of challenges. This last year’s combination of a global pandemic on top of the socio-political turmoil in the U.S. has pushed all but the most privileged to a place of sadness, depression, frustration, and a deeper fear of the unknown. The Good Men Project wants to know how you are caring for your mental-emotional wellbeing as we transition to a new normal. How have you held onto hope? How have you demonstrated your resilience? From where or whom did you draw inspiration?
You can feel free to lift and/or thank others in your essay as long as you do so in a manner that meets our Editorial Guidelines; namely, do not reveal anything personal about another person (“First, do no harm”).

What did you learn from it all that you can share with other readers? We want to read your point of view. Be sure to include your “AHA!” moment! Submit your essay to us when you’re ready. If you are already working with an editor at GMP, please be sure to name that person on the form. If you are not currently working with a GMP editor, one will be assigned to you.
