A Catch-Up with Mr. Majnu
Recently, I took a trip to Lucknow and stayed with an old friendâletâs call him âMr. Majnu.â We hadnât spoken in ages, so this was our first real catch-up. I was excited to hear what heâd been up to and to share a few updates of my own.
Turns out, Majnu had a lot to say about a new ârelationship.â Heâs been dating a girl he met just three months ago, and, well⌠things moved fast.
Their Bollywood Meet-Cute
He told me how they met in classic rom-com fashion. She was at a tourist spot ( Hanumant Dham )with a dead phone and asked him to take her photo and send it to her. (And yeah, he flaunted his iPhone 16âitâs not every day you get that chance!) This threw me back to my school days when girls would ask me to take their photos, and Iâd end up sharing them over ShareIt. I was an innocent, introverted kid back then, but those were the days!
Sneak Peek at the âMajnuâ Chats
Then came the highlightâhe showed me their chats. Letâs just say⌠they were pretty â18+,â way beyond a casual conversation. I was sitting there wondering if he was just trying to make me jealous. After all, who shows those kinds of chats to a friend unless theyâre showing off a bit?
I couldnât believe they were already chatting like âmera baccha, baabuâŚâ It took me three months to say âgood morningâ comfortably with someone! This was a whole new level.
My Big Realization
Watching Majnuâs âsuccessâ made me realize I need to work on my conversation skills. Not exactly Majnuâs style, thoughâIâd probably get in trouble If I tried his moves, Iâd probably have a harassment case on my hands by the fourth message. But really, Iâve noticed I tend to overthink every response. Even sending an emoji feels like a big decision: if I send a heart, will she think Iâm being weird? If I just send a smile, will it seem like Iâm brushing her off? Every text becomes a mental exercise, and maybe I need to just relax a bit. But yeah I Need to Up My Conversation Skills
The âMajnuâ Guide to Flirting : Simping
Majnu, whoâs not exactly a heartthrob, then gave me his âpro tips.â His advice was simple: âCompliment her a lot, bro.â I was skeptical, thinking, âDo I really want to come off that desperate?â But hey, whatever works, right?
My Takeaway from Lucknow
So, what did I learn from this trip? I have a lot to work on with my conversation skills, but Iâm not in a rush. As for Mr. Majnu, heâs probably one reel away from making his own rom-com! Meanwhile, Iâll stick to my own style, maybe add a bit of confidence, and see where it goes.
Stay tuned.
