But after the incremental policies of President Obama, including the half-measures of the Affordable Care Act that have largely been steamrolled by President Trump, Medicare for All is suddenly an increasingly viable option that is now supported by a Democratic caucus in the House along with a majority of Social. The Medicare for All caucus, which boasts around 70 members, is co-chaired by Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.), Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.), and Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-Mich.). It also includes prominent members like Rep. Tim Ryan (D-Ohio), who could threaten House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s standing within the party come midterm season. Additionally, Ellison has introduced a universal health care bill that already boasts 122 co-sponsors. In the Senate, former presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is still the main single-payer proponent, but he’s gotten back-up of late from potential 2020 hopefuls like Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.), and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.). Over the past 90 days, “Medicare for All” has a 67 percent positive score on Social. –Alex Shultz
