Miguel Guzman has learned to fight for what is most important
___
by Miguel Guzman
I came to high school from El Salvador and had never seen a group like this.
A group that shared with others about their past
A place where people reminisce
And see how the time flies fast.

The value of what people say
And the experiences that people share
Have emotions that weigh every day
And sometimes they are just hard to declare.
◊♦◊
Feelings and experiences are compared
And I appreciate and learn
I see that everything can be repaired
And I admire it, as if it were a gem.

POPS the club has shown me that people fight to keep progressing
|
Different lives and different experiences
I listen to them and try to learn a bit of everything
In a way to fill out my own inexperience
When I haven’t even shared anything.
◊♦◊
My life is not tragic.
I have had everything I need
Even if sometimes it seems to be magic,
Sometimes I feel that I can’t proceed.
◊♦◊
POPS the club has shown me that people fight to keep progressing
They don’t give up and they do their best
And it seems that everything they say comes with a blessing
And makes people feel like they can succeed.
◊♦◊
Thinking on how much they got hurt
And for others how much joy they received
Now I see that they are alert
And see how much they have achieved.
◊♦◊
Not everything they share has been sad
There are stories filled with life and joy
Things that people feel glad
And they are able to enjoy.
◊♦◊
I have to be conscious of what is in my mind, and learn from life, bit by bit.
|
Groups like this make me feel
The joy of life, love, and fear
Knowing that everything is real
And that all these things can pass in just a year.
◊♦◊
I learned from POPS that life is not always kind
And sometimes I will have to fight for what life has taught not to lose it
I have to be conscious of what is in my mind
And learn from life, bit by bit.
