Working in Atlanta in the mid-90s, Ingrid Galvez Thorp didn’t feel particularly welcomed by her colleagues. When her boss confronted her about this – and asked point-blank if she were a lesbian – Ingrid quickly learned that she had an ally in the workplace. Ingrid shared this story with us several years ago and recently sat down with us again to discuss diversity and inclusion in the workplace, and the importance of being your authentic self at work.
