If you ask 100 people what’s their favorite sport, about 99 of them will say something besides golf, and the 100th will say that they don’t like sports at all. Golf is not the most popular sport, but it does have a following nonetheless. It’s not so much about golf not being popular as it is about other sports being so popular that they completely overshadow the game of golf. But why should people play golf? What makes golf worth giving up a soccer match or basketball game to play golf? That’s what we’re here to discuss, as we believe we can prove that golf is worth playing. Here are the top things that you will probably like about golf. Who knows, by the end of this article you might even pick up a few clubs of your own and start swinging. If you become interested in playing, look at the golf drivers here.
1. You don’t need a lot of people to play a round of golf.
The problem with other sports is you need a lot of people to play. To have a team, you need at least three people, so that means you need at least six individuals to form two teams. That’s just not possible all the time, as your friends might have other plans from time to time. However, it is possible to call up just one other person and invite them to a game of golf. Golf is the kind of game where you can even play by yourself without it seeming lackluster, due to all the mechanics of the match being in place even when there’s no opponent.
2. Golf is relaxing and calming.
With so many things ready to get your heart pumping like crazy, having something that helps calm you down and forget about all the stressful stuff that’s been going on in the past few days is great. Not all sports can do something like that, but golf definitely can. That’s because golf is a game that takes place in silence. In other sports, you have a lot of people that ultimately scream at each other to pass the ball, shoot, or just cheer. Golf lets you collect your thoughts and stretch your brain a bit while enjoying the calming nature of the sport.
3. Golf is good exercise.
This might seem a little redundant since all sports are great forms of exercise, but golf is exceptional because it implies a lot of walking. You walk over very long distances but you are concentrated on the ball, so you don’t always notice all the exercise you’re getting in while playing. Additionally, the fact that you are walking, not running or jogging. As a result, you won’t see that you’re getting tired that quickly. You can go on for hours on end, and if you play golf, often you will surely notice how your leg muscles are starting to develop quite nicely.
