Ah, the joys of being a parent in the digital age! It’s tough keeping up with our grown children these days, isn’t it?
They’re always jetting off to new and exciting places, and they seem to think they don’t have to bother telling us about it.
A couple of months ago, my husband used the Find My Friends App on his phone to track down our college-age children. My husband regularly utilizes this app for his peace of mind.
My husband expressed surprise that our son was in Mexico City. He then inquired about our son’s girlfriend’s whereabouts and discovered that she, too, was in Mexico City.
I remarked I did not believe it because I had just spoken with our son that morning, and he had not even hinted that he was leaving the country.
I then checked my Instagram feed to and was surprised to see my son’s girlfriend had posted about their trip to the Teotihuacan Pyramids in Mexico City.
When I called my son later that day, he claimed he didn’t bother to inform us because we’d already visited Mexico City with him earlier this year. He simply wanted to check out the sights we had not had time to see earlier! 😏
I guess technology /social media is the only way to locate our children’s whereabouts nowadays. 😕

Closing Thoughts
But seriously, what is it with these young adults nowadays? Don’t they know that their parents still worry about them, even when they’re all grown up?
I guess it’s just another way for them to keep us on our toes and make sure we’re still paying attention.
Parenting young adults is a wild ride, but it’s all part of the fun.
Who knows where our children will turn up next?
Maybe we’ll get lucky and they’ll send us a postcard from the Great Wall of China. Or maybe we’ll just have to keep refreshing the “Find My Friends” app and hope for the best. 😉
