While Democrats are banking on opposition to President Donald Trump to carry them to victory, Republicans are taking a different route. The GOP has been hard at work touting tax cuts it passed six months ago, though according to a Monmouth University poll released last week, the response have been less than encouraging. Just 34 percent of Americans said they approved of the Republican tax-reform package, while 41 percent are dissatisfied. Back in April, 40 percent approved. Opinions on social media are also running against the tax plan, which included steep corporate tax cuts and axed popular deductions. Online, 64 percent of users are against the plan, and some even hope to see it repealed. Maybe stepping up attacks on unpopular Dems such as House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), who currently sees 64 percent negative opinions online, might be a better tactic. –Hugo Guzman
