It’s been kind of a crazy week for Jamie and me. Monday was our first official day running The Good Feed Blog. Sort of a daunting task, seeing as our fearless founder, Tom Matlack was trusting his baby to us.
But it’s been super fun, too. First, have any of you noticed that Jamie is frickin’ hysterical? There was a lot of evidence of this as Jamie had all of us crying laughing over his review of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition cover shot in Cover Me, I’m Going In: SI Swimsuit Edition 2012.
Not shockingly, that was our most popular post of the week. I’m sure the crazy-hot picture of Kate Upton that led the story didn’t hurt, either…even I couldn’t tear my eyes away.
The incredibly intriguing blog post called Gay People Need To Stop Having Sex With Republican Homophobes was our second most popular piece this week and by far our most controversial. Steve Locke is brilliant, and his piece moved a lot of people and inspired great conversations.
The award for most comments this week goes to my piece about Chris Brown and other so-called “bad men”. Amazing conversations happening over there. I really learned a lot, including how many female celebrities have had assault charges leveled against them—or at least should have. I knew there had to be some women who were acting just as badly as these men, but I think society excuses it much more. I always learn so much from you guys, and I appreciate that.
Lisa Hickey, our awesome CEO, especially loved Why Settle For Less #MarriageFail, where Jamie implores guys not to settle for Ms. Not Too Bad, and to wait for the best life has to offer. Jamie says this:
Brother, a nice personality and good sex don’t equate to a lifetime together. What are you hoping for there, that things don’t get worse? That’s like hoping your college team just manages to keep it close against the #1 seed in March Madness.
Hold out for greatness. The rest of your life is too valuable.
My personal favorite? Matthew Crowder’s Even Tough Guys Like To Cuddle, which was a response to Tom Matlack’s NYT piece where he got slaughtered in the media for loving a good snuggle from his wife and kids. Matt Crowder is a new writer for us, as well as a U.S. Army Sergeant First Class who has been deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan. He’s also a single father to a gorgeous daughter.
Hope you guys enjoyed the blog this week as much as Jamie and I did.
What did you like the most? What sort of things would you guys like to see more?
“Hold out for greatness. The rest of your life is too valuable.”
Very wise words. Great job this week on the Good Feed to both of you. I love the wide variety of subjects covered.
I’m seriously remiss for not mentioning Aaron’s piece about mothers complaining about the way dads run the PTA. Read it here:
