Chris Masters said, “You’re not really reasonable, especially when it comes to your mom.”
30-year-old former WWE wrestling star Chris “The Masterpiece” Masters is being hailed as a hero after saving his mother from her burning home earlier this week. According to ABC News, Masters received a phone call from his mothers neighbor about “suspicious activity” in the home that his mother, Diane Mordetzky and his uncle, Leo Taliaferro share. It seems that another neighbor, who Masters only knows as Daniel, had barricaded Mordetzky in her bedroom and then done the same to the home’s front door and set the apartment on fire.
Masters, who tried along with his uncle to talk the man down through the front door before police arrived said, “He started going into this weird thing that he’s her son and she’s my mom now. Once I heard that he was talking that madness I knew he had a problem. I was scared.” When police finally arrived, the man threatened to blow up the apartment, and shortly after that smoke started seeping out the front door. It was at this point that Masters told ABC News that he went into “hero mode,” ripping a 10-foot ficus tree blocking his mothers bedroom window out of the way and smashing the window to get her out. He said,
If you saw what I saw coming out the front door, it was crazy. The police officers were kind of hesitant and it was like I started quarterbacking the whole thing. I went into hero mode … I’m like screw this. I move into action, probably because it was my mom in the house and I thought, “Every second that goes by, why are we just waiting here?”
It’s not really a tree that’s meant to come down but basically I gave it a bear hug and got the tree down. I told the police officers, “Break the windows. Break the windows. My mom is in this room and we’ve got to get her out.”
Masters mother Diane, who escaped the ordeal with no injuries, credits her son with saving her life. She said, “If it wasn’t for my son I would be dead.” But Masters, who suffered cuts to his arms from the tree, said what he did was “nothing.” He said he has “never loved my mom anymore than the moment when she popped out of that window … It was probably the longest hour of my life. The main thing is I got my mom out safe.”
The suspect, who was being evicted and whose wife had filed a restraining order against him, was arrested by Police without any other incident. Masters told reporters, “I think he was a guy who had reached rock bottom.”
Okay, here’s one thing I really don’t understand about this site. You claim to be against the illegal use of anabolic steroids, but many an article I’ve seen in this website gushing over the very people who constitute the very apex of steroid abuse , professional wrestlers. OK , the young man rescued his Mom and that’s a good thing! But, do you really mean to hold him up as a hero so young men will say to themselves “Let me get some of that ‘Magic Juice’ so I can look like that”!
