Open Discussion:
It’s a major topic in the 2012 election: Mitt Romney’s tax returns.
While Romney has volunteered some of his returns (of “car elevator” fame), he refuses to share any more, claiming he doesn’t want to give his opponents any more fodder which he believes they will distort.
What do you think? Should politicians be forced to show their tax returns?
If not forced, is it their moral duty?
Or is privacy privacy no matter who you are?

I think that politicians should be forced to reveal everything about personal financial matters.
Donald Rumsfeld personally made over $200,000,000 from investments in arms companies which were later given huge contracts in the War in Iraq. He decided which companies to give contracts to, and heavily influenced the decision to go to war.
People have killed for less than 200 million.

I don’t understand what Mitt Romney is doing.
The people who want to see his tax returns were never going to vote for him in the first place; they are simply looking for an excuse to work themselves up into frothy anger. He should just release them and get it over with: there were never any votes to win among that crowd.
