The difference in not about the label, but rather the absence of fear.
Allan commented in response to Same Sex Sex and Why We Need to Remove Labels:
I believe there is a lot of merit in the above comments, however I do not believe labels are or are not the problem. I truly believe the crux of the matter is around judgement and the subsequent shame that we may or may not feel. After working with many different men over quite a number of years, I can tell you that the fear of judgement is huge in a lot of men, and that is based in the potential shame they will feel if someone disapproves of them or an aspect of their behaviour. This is especially so around issues of sexuality. That is clearly illustrated in the two examples you speak about TiffanyG. One was closeted and the other “proudly wears the label”. The difference in not about the label, but rather the absence of fear. Fear can only not affect us once we are in complete acceptance of all the nuances surrounding an aspect of ourselves. That is what gives us the ability to not care what another says or thinks about us.
