Guardians of Oz is full of magic, danger and strong friendships
I really enjoy The Wizard of Oz. I have seen Return to Oz, which was a peculiar sequel but overall not bad. There have been many sequels and different versions of this fantastic story. Guardians of Oz is different from the rest. It continues this tale in a fun, exciting way. I was able to get a review copy and here is what I thought of it.
You can read the plot for Guardians of Oz here:
Wicked witch Eviline (Ambyr Childers) tries to steal back the broom that holds her powers, but Ozzy, a kindhearted flying monkey, snags it instead. Hoping to rescue his father, Ozzy joins forces with cheeky young sorceress Gabby. But can they find the Lion, Scarecrow, and Tin Woodman — and lift the enchanted spells Eviline has imprisoned them with?
I enjoyed watching Guardians of Oz. It is a clever animated film that has some heart warming moments. It has action, tons of magic and some really good characters. The animation is actually pretty good, and has some amazing visual effects. The plot is original and really does a splendid job expanding this universe. Viewers get to see many new sides of Oz, ones that I have never seen before. It is also clever how they decided to show new aspects of the flying monkeys. Once this film is over you may have a different take on these odd creatures. This may not be a film for everyone, but kids will really like it.
