‘The Mayor’ pilot is a bit silly, but did make me laugh
ABC has a lot of interesting shows coming out this Fall. Many of these shows sound quite good. The Mayor has an interesting concept. I was able to watch a screener of the pilot and this is my thoughts on it.
You can read the premise for The Mayor pilot here:
Young rapper Courtney Rose (Brandon Micheal Hall) needs his big break. For years he’s toiled away in a small inner-city apartment, making music in his junk-filled bedroom closet. Tired of waiting for opportunity to knock, Courtney cooks up the publicity stunt of the century – running for mayor of his California hometown, Fort Grey, to generate buzz for his music career. But his master plan goes wildly awry, ending in the most terrifying of outcomes: an election victory.
I had fun watching The Mayor pilot episode. Although it starts kind of slow, it gets better as the story unfolds. Around the middle of the episode, a great moment happens that made me really like this character. Although he isn’t perfect, his heart is in the right place. This episode shows that with friends, family and allies by your side, you may be able to do unbelievable things. If you want to learn more about The Mayor click on this website.
