No matter how bad things may seem, remember: this is the LEAST fucked up version of humanity to ever exist, and unlike the past 10,000 years, we’re actively engaged in a global conversation about how to make it better for everyone.
If you’re not crapping in a pot, tossing it out the window, then slogging ankle deep through human waste, things have improved. If you live beyond 40 because you didn’t catch diphtheria or bubonic plague, things have improved. If you’re a woman and you can vote and own property, things have improved. If you’re a person of color and no one considers you property, things have improved.
If you weren’t born into nobility and you actually have the chance to improve your station in life, you’re light years ahead of your ancestors.
