Doyin Richards was more surprised than anyone when a simple picture of him tending to his daughters went viral. He now hopes his new mission to get the word out on good dads gets a similar reception.

To Doyin, it was just a simple picture of his day to day life taking care of his daughters. Yes, he was multi-tasking. Yes, he looked good in a t-shirt. Yes, he was being a dad, a good dad.
To the rest of the world, the picture was a fascination. Everyone saw it, and good or bad reactions, everyone had to register an opinion about it. Most of the opinions centered around our collective vision of what it meant to be a modern dad, and Doyin had inadvertently become the poster boy for the concept.
Doyin did not stop there however. Since that day when suddenly television and talk shows could not get enough of him, he has developed as a writer, consultant, and public speaker. He has made it his life work to inspire mothers and fathers to enjoy and thrive in their lives and evolvement as parents. He is the author of the popular parenting blog Daddy Doin’ Work, and the book, Daddy Doin’ Work: Empowering Mothers to Evolve Fatherhood, Doyin has also launched a hashtag conversation on Twitter to create further public conversation: #FatherhoodFridays .
Now, he has taken the picture worth a thousand words, and is taking it to the next level in his vision. He will be creating a book with Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group depicting heartwarming images of ordinary life for the new modern breed of dads. The book will consist of original photographs of Doyin and his family as well as those of his fans and followers. None of the photos will be posed, but authentic moments in time captured and immortalized.
The book will depict families of various walks of life, ethnicities and cultures. They will feature the father’s role in the family and how important showing up for that role is.
The book will let the world know something that Doyin discovered years ago, that being a father is one of the greatest things a man can do with his life.
