In a bid to get children to eat healthier, ‘The Cook At Home Dad’ shares tips and recipes he creates for and with his kids.

I was an aspiring singer/songwriter living in Los Angeles for the better part of a decade before I relocated to Long Island, NY and became a father. Once I became a dad, I was inspired by the culinary world I found myself working in, the off-the-hook cuisines I was exposed to, and by the amazing and talented chefs I paid close attention to and worked with.
None of this would compare to how much I was inspired by Giada DeLaurentis, the Food Network Chef I accidentally discovered one day while channel surfing. Giada led to me discovering the Food Network, which I began watching, learning from, and writing about. My artistic outlet morphed, and I found myself working more on recipes and culinary ideas than on riffs and rhythms and lyrics.
I made the leap from songwriter to writer to blogger to food blogger. I sent in an application for the Food Network show, “Chopped” and landed an interview with a casting director. I filmed this vlog the next day.
Please find the embedded recipe for “Gourmet Popcorn and the Truth About Bloggers.” This popcorn pairs perfectly with any family movie night or game night and is unlike anything you will find in a microwave. The recipe bumps up popcorn a notch or ten (read the recipe within the vlog), and will rival any movie theater popcorn any day. The part within about bloggers? I still chuckle when I watch it (#truth). Enjoy!
