Father is happy, Mother is hard-working, and then there are their naïve children.
All started by Father and ended by Mother.
Father picked up the bottle and never dropped it.
But it’s okay. We’re having a good time.
One drunk father and his happy family.
Father picks up another bottle and never drops it.
Father wants more and more.
His addiction got to the point where he took money from Mother and forgot about us.
Left alone and confused, Mother comes home, cares for us.
One angry mother and her two scared children.
Father says sorry but Mother can’t forgive him.
Father picks up another bottle and never drops it.
The tipping point is close but there’s still…hope?
I can live in my fantasies but reality trumps.
The man in black takes Father away.
We can’t see him. Why can’t we see him?
Mother bails father out and it becomes a game of cat and mouse.
It gets violent, all I can do is watch and cry.
Too young to process my surroundings, I ask why?
Why is Father so obsessed with these bottles?
Bottles scattered and unguarded, I take a sip.
It only leaves me with more questions than answers.
Father picks up another bottle and never drops it.
Were our tears not enough?
Did we even matter to you?
Out of our lives and far away.
One mother and her children.
