Men do not experience success from one grand action. Instead, it comes from a collective of small actions that progressed into bigger actions.

At some point in our life, probably in the not too distant past, we wanted our lives to be in the current state they are in. We once asked and desired our current occupations, living situations, cars, etc. Yet, we fail to remember that it was our desire for these things that brought them to us.
The same things that made you happy at a younger age may not be as fulfilling as you grow.

We had a certain image of what success looked like for us. Everyone’s picture of success was different. Hence, us all having different paths in life. However, in our visions, once we arrive at where we wanted to be, sometimes we get bored and feel unsuccessful because what we thought would make us happy and fulfill our lives is not what we once thought. This comes from maturing. The same things that made you happy at a younger age may not be as fulfilling as you grow.

1. Don’t be afraid to have a new dream. The wrong attitude for anyone is to think they are too old to start over. Now is the perfect time to have a new dream. It is obvious that the current life you are leading is not as satisfying as it once was. Maybe you discovered that what you are currently doing is not your true passion, and you feel that you will enjoy a career change. This is perfectly normal, considering most of us go into careers before we know who we are as an individual. We are told to go to college and get a job. Some of us are too young mentally to make an important life decision that forces a quick judgment call that later leads to us feeling dissatisfied as our lives progress.
2. No dream is too big. If you dream, you may as well dream big. We thought small before, and that’s what leads us to our current stations in life. We, as humans, tend to look for the box that we will fit in instead of ignoring the box and finding our space to create and make ourselves happy. Far too often, we stop ourselves from dreaming because we don’t believe that we can attain certain levels in life. If we dare to dream, we dare to allow our minds to run free. Limiting our dreams limits our lives. Remember being a child and being asked what you wanted to be when you grew up? Do you recall the enthusiasm and certainty in your response? Now is the time to ask yourself the same question. It is also the time to answer with such enthusiasm and commit to making it happen.
3. Believe in yourself. You are greater than you think you are. We often struggle with the idea of our success. It is easier to stay in your current position and plan for retirement than it is to have a dream and work towards its manifestation. We have to change our mindset. When we go to work, we are helping someone else to achieve their goals and dreams. If we can work that hard for someone else, then we can do the same thing for ourselves. The realization of a dream begins to happen when you believe that you can make it happen and that you deserve everything you want in life.
4. Celebrate Failure. Failure does not happen without action. You had to try something new for it to fail. Change your mindset, you didn’t fail, you found how not to do something. Celebrate the failure because it takes failure to lead to success. Commemorate the failure and encourage yourself to try again. For every no, you receive there will be 12 yesses. The universe gives us an idea at the craziest times; you may be celebrating and finally realize the solution that leads to the success you are aiming for.
It all starts with the mind; the proper mindset can take you to your dream and beyond.

5. Make Time. Time will not come; sometimes we have to steal it from other places. You would be amazed at how much time you can get in a day when you decide to make time. I always had the idea to write a novel, I just never could make time to write. The truth is, according to my life as a wife, mother, and maintaining a full-time career, there was no time for writing. I made time by writing small amounts. At first, I would write for five minutes a day. Over time, those five minutes grew because I stole more time. I made no excuses, and my family saw me writing more and bothered me less. They began to understand that I needed to be left alone and began to ask if I had enough time to write.
