Let’s talk, you and I. Let’s talk about fitness truth.
As you are reading this you are likely confused (or at least unclear)
about fitness and fat loss. The media does quite the job of keeping the
public confused when it comes to fitness.
Every week there is another “guru” coming out of the woodwork, claiming
to have the “secret” to fat loss. In reality, science has known for
quite some time how the human body works, and how one can lose fat and
get fit. It’s not a secret at all.
Basically, this man was asking me to live a happy and, dare I say, normal life – while still getting great fitness results

There are basic laws (thermodynamics in particular) that are as clear
and pure as the gravity that currently holds you securely to this
planet. Yet still the fitness truth remains shrouded in mystery, as if
it were neatly wedged under an ancient mummies hand somewhere in the
Middle East.
That is, until today. Today I am going to tell you how I broke free of
“the matrix” and gained clarity and truth about fitness and nutrition.
It all started with one man. Alan Aragon.
In 2008 I was a struggling Personal Trainer living in Orlando, FL. I
trained my clients (I think I had a whopping 2 at the time) and I lived
by dogmatic nutritional discipline.
I ate every few hours from my cooler, consumed only foods that tasted
like drywall and wood chips, and made sure to avoid any “tasty” foods
unless it was cheat day. Typical fitness OCD.
I also taught this miserable lifestyle to my clients. This did two
things:
1. It gave me a binge eating disorder. On the days I was allowed to have
tasty food I ended up eating massive amounts of junk.
2. My clients’ adherence to my program was downright terrible. They
simply couldn’t stick to a plan that was so restrictive and unlivable.
Then late one night on a fitness forum I found a guy named Alan Aragon.
This guy was going against everything I believed and let me tell you at
that time I did NOT like him.
My ego was in full effect. Who was this guy to tell me that science
disproved my methods? That I don’t have to eat every 3 hours? That I had
been wasting my time carrying around that freaking cooler every day for
10 years!
What right did he have!
My ego simply would not accept this man and his so-called science. So I
argued with him. I told him that eating every 3 hours was indeed
necessary to get a great physique – and that you couldn’t eat “junk
food” and still lose fat.
I told him that sugar was bad – especially fruit sugar, and that I knew
this because I had been reading fitness magazines for over a decade.
He didn’t get mad or call me a moron (which would have been well within
his rights by the way). He simply showed me the science proving that I
was wrong, and left it at that.
I was dumbfounded. Every argument that I gave him was refuted with cold
hard science; and an imploration for me to give this new method a try.
What new method you ask?
Calorie counting, eating a few times a day instead of 6, focusing on the
foundational things that matter instead of the minute details that make
little to no difference. Basically, this man was asking me to live a
happy and, dare I say, normal life – while still getting great fitness
results.
After seeing all of the science I was still angry, but the guy had a
point. I was wrong, and I could see that now.
So I did what any self-respecting forum member would do in a situation
where they have been proven utterly wrong…I signed up under a new
username and began wholeheartedly agreeing with Alan!
And thus I was converted. The old cooler toting me died, and the new me
was born. I began to eat 3 times a day instead of 6, I quit carrying
that blasted cooler everywhere I went, and I started living a much
happier, simpler, and more fulfilling lifestyle.
I also gained more control of my binge eating disorder, and my business began to grow by leaps and bounds. My clients were happier, and so was I. I haven’t looked back since.

I owe Alan so much; he literally changed the course of my life. My body,
mind, and my career were all drastically changed for the better the day
I found out about Alan Aragon.
Now you know about him too. I ask you to set aside your ego and embrace
the truth about fitness and nutrition. Go check out his website at

As I sit here in front of my computer typing something that should have
been done years ago – I can only think of one last thing to say:
Thank you, Alan for all of the great work you do, for sticking by the
truth, for not being swayed, and for helping all of us to gain mastery
of what is quite possibly our most important asset, our fitness and
health.
