…No, the title is not the beginning of a bad joke. It’s part of a genius advertising strategy by the folks over at Blendtec.
Founder Tom Dickon seems to experience great joy at grinding things up in his blenders… Especially things that probably shouldn’t be blended. In this case, the Apple iPad mini, the Google Nexus 7, and the Kindle Fire HD.
While the first moment of Dickson cracking the device in half is sort of painful, the process is intriguing and the end result is pretty bizarre.
So who won? You’ll have to watch to find out…
But it seems Mashable’s Todd Wasserman is right in that it doesn’t really matter. “The real winner, of course, is Blendtec, which has racked up more than 200 million YouTube views with its “Will it Blend?” series.”
“Don’t breath this.” Yeah, no sh*t. He’s releasing toxic chemicals from the hardware. I wouldn’t do that without a breather or a mask of some kind, and I’d want much thicker gloves than that.
Perhaps this can stimulate a conversation about what happens to your electronic devices when you’re done with them. Another long-term environmental problem to think about.
